JayDoc Vitals Buckets- Thank you donors and volunteers!
By editor | January 29, 2009
JayDoc Free Clinic has integrated new Vitals Buckets into the clinic protocol. These buckets feature a variety of clinical tools including blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, monofilaments, and more. This project was made possible thanks to KUMC Medical Student Assembly, who donated the proceeds of their annual Halloween party, Heart to Heart International, who donated several items for each bucket, and JayDoc Diabetes Night, who donated the monofilaments. Thanks to all who helped with this project, which we hope will be a great asset to the clinic process!

Jaydocfreeclinic.org now has a Spanish-language section! Thank you volunteer translators!
By editor | January 29, 2009
We are excited to announce the introduction of the Spanish-language section of www.jaydocfreeclinic.org. This section offers general contact information, hours of operation, directions, and FAQ’s about JayDoc Free Clinic, and will be a great feature for our many Spanish-speaking patients and volunteers. This project was completed thanks to the hard work of our great Spanish interpreters, who worked on the project during their holiday break. Jaydoc Free Clinic would like to thank the following volunteers for their outstanding efforts in coordinating and translating:
Mariela Gallegos-Ramos
Hans Tregear
Paul St. Romain
Britton Zucharelli
Dan Belz
Rachael Krob
Bliss Hartnett
Be sure to check out the Spanish-language section as we make even more additions in the future!

JayRock 4
By editor | November 18, 2008
JayRock, a benefit concert, is the primary fund-raiser for Jaydoc Free Clinic. Through JayRock, all contributions are significant and meaningful. Because of the generosity of our partners, all JayRock donations contribute directly to the operation of the clinic.
Over four years, JayRock has become a big success. Last year, JayRock 3 raised 20% of the clinic’s annual budget and was the subject of stories in the Kansas City Star and the Pitch and on NPR, among others. For JayRock 4:
- we have partnered with Hunt Industries for their expertise in managing national bands and venues;
- we have partnered with Barkley US for their expertise in crafting a powerful concert marketing campaign; and
- we expect concert attendance to exceed 1,000 new and future physicians and community members.
JayRock raises funds for the clinic through event sponsorships.

There are 47 million uninsured people in the United States. About 42% of them are between the ages of 18 and 34. Nearly three-quarters of them work full time or part time. Employed and unemployed; young, old, and middle-aged, thousands of underinsured people have received care at Jaydoc Free Clinic. And hundreds of them have attended a JayRock concert.
As sponsor of JayRock 2009, your group will reach out to two important demographic groups: (1) thousands of health care consumers living in the Kansas City metropolitan region through a far-reaching promotional campaign coordinated by professionals at Barkley US and (2) hundreds of new, future, and established physicians who will influence the future of the health care industry. And, perhaps more meaningful, as a JayRock 2009 sponsor, your group will help provide urgent care to thousands of underserved Kansas Citians.
Media Package
Each sponsorship package is designed to build actual and philanthropic return on your investment, while creating positive public relations and allowing you to reach directly this powerful audience. First-year Students Train for 2008
By editor | August 20, 2008
On August 16 and 17, the new first-year medical students, interpreters and laboratory technicians trained for the upcoming year at JayDoc Free Clinic. The training was coordinated by Faith Butler, Director of Volunteers, and was staffed by second-year medical student volunteers. Over one hundred students were trained to take blood pressure, pulse and respirations, blood glucose, height, weight and temperature, as well as learning the mission, policies and processes at JayDoc. Thanks to all who volunteered at the event, and to all the first-year students who are now prepared for a great year at JayDoc Free Clinic! If you are interested in training but were not able to make last weekend’s event, email us at jaydocfreelinic@kumc.edu.

Also check out the JayDoc training album in our Photo Gallery. Be sure to click on the Photo Gallery link itself, not the thumbnails
