What is the JayDoc Free Clinic?
Since its inception in 2003, the clinic has served approximately 1,800 patients per year during operating hours on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
JayDoc is a an official member of the Safety Net Clinic Coalition of Wyandotte County and plays an important role as the only clinic in Kansas City that provides free health care services without the need for an appointment during evening hours.
JayDoc provides urgent and preventive care services. Through the efforts of student volunteers in Social Services, JayDoc also equips patients with referrals to other Safety Net Clinics so they can find a medical home for ongoing health care.
Run by: Medical students from the University of Kansas School of Medicine
JayDoc is staffed by volunteer physicians and residents who, assisted by first through fourth year medical students, treat approximately 6-8 patients each during the hours of 6:00 to 9:30 pm. This allows physicians time to serve patients as well as to work with and mentor students.
